P1 and S1 Placement Decisions - August 2026
2026/2027 - school session runs from the 12 August 2026 - 25 June 2027
The closing date for P1 and S1 applications for August 2026 has now passed. Decisions are currently being made and will begin to be issued to parents from today, 9 April 2026.
Please note that issuing decisions for all applications received by the closing date will take some time. Any requests for updates during this period may slow down the process.
We kindly ask that you do not contact us regarding your decision unless you have not received any correspondence by 1 May 2026.

What is the process for applications for P2-P7 or S2-S6 to start in August 2026?
If you wish to apply for a place in stages P2 - P7 or S2 - S6 from August 2026, please do not complete an application until the start of June 2026, as schools are unable to hold a place for longer than 2 weeks, however we do not count school holidays in the 2 weeks, therefore a place allocated 2 weeks before the summer holidays can be held until the 1st day of term in August 2026.

What happens to my application if requesting a place in 2025/2026?
2025/2026 has started, therefore all applications for all Primary or Secondary school places if submitted to pupil placement are sent onto the school detailed as 1st choice on the form for the Head teacher to consider and issue a decision.
Please contact that school directly for any update on your application, the Head Teacher has 2 months to issue a decision, however most applications will be decided much more quickly.
