School or College Leavers
You may be entitled to a Council Tax discount if a resident in the property is a school or college leaver.
To qualify they must:
- be 18 or 19 years of age, and
- have, after the 30 April and before 1 November in any year, ceased to undertake a full time or qualifying course of education.
How to apply:
The person liable for Council Tax at the property should email the following information to counciltax@westlothian.gov.uk
- The name of the person who has left school or college, and
- The date they left school or college, and
- The name of the school or college they attended, and
- The names of all adult residents (18 years of age or over) in the property, and
- The names of all residents aged 16 or 17 years of age in the property along with their date of birth.
