Unoccupied and Unfurnished Property Discount

If the property remains unoccupied and unfurnished, after a period of 6 month exemption, a Council Tax discount may be awarded.

If the property remains unoccupied and unfurnished following a period of 6 month exemption, you may be entitled to a 10% Council Tax discount. You will be charged the full water and waste water charges during this period.

Important: If the property is unoccupied for a continuous period of more than 12 months it will be classed as a long term unoccupied property and will be charged at twice the full charge for the band the property is in. There are  long term unoccupied property discounts available in specific circumstances.
