In accordance with Section 21 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 a Roads Construction Consent is required for the construction of a new or the extension of an existing road. New Street Names must be applied for through the Council.
West Lothian Council's Roads and Transportation Service will supply permits for skip hire, erecting scaffolding and hoarding, placing a storage container and cabins, cranes, hoists and access towers on a publicly owned road. We also provide permits for opening up a road or footpath for dropped crossings such as vehicle access.

The below link lists all of West Lothian Council's Traffic Sensitive Roads. All are considered to be traffic sensitive between 0730-0900 and 1600-1800 Monday to Friday.
